Susan Greene
Senior Vice President, Bank of America
Susan Greene serves as a Senior Vice President and Community Development Market Executive for Bank of America in San Francisco. She plays a pivotal role in advancing the bank’s efforts in community development, leading initiatives that have directed over $950 million in capital to Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) for Paycheck Protection Program loans. Under her leadership, Bank of America became the first financial institution designated as a Qualified Issuer of loans to CDFIs by the U.S. Treasury Department, resulting in $500 million in 30-year, below-market capital for CDFIs.
Ms. Greene also spearheaded the launch of a $12 million program to provide loan loss reserve capital grants to micro-lenders, which leveraged more than $120 million in capital for over 10,000 small businesses previously unable to access traditional capital markets. Her strategic focus on community impact and partnerships has helped Bank of America grow its industry-leading CDFI portfolio.
Prior to her tenure at Bank of America, Ms. Greene worked for over nine years at the Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF) and Capital Impact Partners. As Director of the Education Program at LIIF, she was instrumental in designing a lending program for charter schools in low-income areas, expanding LIIF’s charter school program from $4 million to $175 million, and helping thousands of low-income students gain access to quality education. She also launched the first-ever New Markets Tax Credit Fund for charter schools.
Ms. Greene holds a Master’s in Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and a Bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in Spanish and History from Williams College. She actively contributes to the community by serving on the Loan Committees for the Enterprise Community Loan Fund and the Nonprofit Finance Fund.
